Sunscreen Spray
Delivery systems for reaching the back, the scalp, and the parts of the body people skip — where the formulation has to survive being atomised.
A spray is a formulation problem disguised as a packaging choice. The fluid has to pass a nozzle without clogging, land on skin without pooling, and deliver a consistent dose across the life of the pack.
Mineral filters add a specific constraint: particles that are well dispersed in the bottle can agglomerate at the nozzle, which shows up as spitting, spattering, or a blocked actuator after a few uses.
We are developing both pump and aerosol routes, and treating nozzle compatibility as a formulation variable from the first trial rather than a packaging decision at the end.
What governs this format
- Nozzle compatibility
- Tested against the dispersion, not against a generic fluid
- Dose consistency
- Measured across pack life, not at first fill
- Propellant choice
- Aerosol route only; pump route avoids the question
- Inhalation safety
- Affects particle specification and labelling obligations
Protection values are measured on the developed formula by third-party laboratories. We do not state figures for a formula we have not tested.
Typically developed for
- Body and back application
- Scalp protection
- Outdoor and travel formats
- Frequent reapplication
