Aqueous Dispersion
Nano zinc oxide pre-dispersed in an aqueous carrier, milled and stabilised so it can be added directly to your water phase without a dispersion step.
The point of an aqueous dispersion is to remove the hardest part of mineral sunscreen formulation from your process. Dispersion quality decides whether a mineral filter performs or produces a white cast, and it usually requires specialised milling equipment and a fair amount of trial and error to get right.
We do that work before the material leaves us. What arrives is a stable slurry with the particle distribution already achieved, so adding it to your water phase is a mixing operation rather than a milling one.
Aqueous systems carry their own constraints. Water activity means the preservative strategy has to account for the slurry as well as the finished formula, and the dispersion has a finite shelf life that depends on the carrier and the dispersant package.
