Oil and Silicone Dispersion
Nano zinc oxide pre-dispersed in an emollient or silicone carrier, for systems where a water phase is absent or undesirable.
Anhydrous dispersions suit sticks, water-resistant products and formulas where the preservative burden needs to stay low. Removing water removes the microbiological question, and it also removes the ingredient that most readily carries a mineral filter into an incompatible phase.
The trade-off is carrier compatibility. An oil-phase dispersion has to be matched to the emollient system of the finished product — a dispersion in caprylic/capric triglyceride behaves differently in a silicone-heavy formula than in a hydrocarbon one, and the wrong pairing shows up as separation or graininess rather than as a failure of the filter.
We produce these in more than one carrier so that the match can be made against your formula rather than forcing your formula to accommodate ours.
